Stars and Frame Textured Cards

Hi, everyone! Love to add texture to your handmade cards? Teri here to show you two cards with gobs of texture.

Stars and Frame Textured Cards by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Create the Frames

Blend ink colors onto panels of white cardstock. Consider masking off part of the panels so you only apply ink to the middle. Designer’s Tip: Make your strips of masking paper to do it. Check out this DIY Masking Strips Tutorial. Once you’ve applied your ink, use an embossing folder and die-cutting machine to add texture to your paper panels for extra pop!

Stars and Frame Textured Cards by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place 3D Foam Frames on your panels, and add some 3D Foam Stars and 3D Foam Circles as well. Trim the excess paper with scissors.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with Flock

Take off the liners on the 3D Foam Frames, 3D Foam Stars, and 3D Foam Circles. Cover them with white flock, and press into the foam to secure them. Tap off the excess – maybe use a small brush to help. You could use glitter instead if you want a more blinged-out look!

Stars and Frame Textured Cards by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Create Your Card Bases, Add the Frames and Decorate Some More

Create cards from cardstock. Cover them with patterned paper. Add your textured panels to your cards, securing them at an angle and leaving a little bit off the edge of each card. I recommend using an especially strong adhesive, like Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4″, with embossed papers. Be sure to push the tape onto the panels to secure and avoid the risk of it pulling off when removing the release paper. Trim the edge of your paper panels with your scissors.

Stamp sentiments on strips of cardstock. Apply Crafty Foam Tape to them. If your strip is narrow, simply cut the foam tape with your scissors to make it fit!

Stars and Frame Textured Cards by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Complete your cards by adding your sentiment strips to them, as well as some small embellishments. Small clay shapes, gems, and sequins all work well for this.

Embroidered Bauble Card

Hi everyone, can you believe that Christmas is only three weeks away? I am in a Christmas crafting mood and made this embroidered Bauble Card. Working with white on white cardstock and then adding an embossed background makes this card very classy. I would love to share how I made my card… wanna join me?

Embroidered Bauble Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Card Base

Start making the top card panel. I used white cardstock and an old embossing folder to create the perfect background for my Embroidered Bauble Card. Mat the embossed panel onto a grey panel using the E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser. Next, adhere to a white card base using the same adhesive.

Creating the Bauble.

To create the bauble for my Embroidered Bauble Card I die-cut the bauble from white cardstock. Then embroider the bauble with embroidery floss. I used the colors pink, soft pink, and gold. Next die-cut the bauble top and the filigree parts from shiny gold cardstock. Adhere the parts to the bauble using the Dual Tip Glue Pen for precise adhering.

Finishing the Card

To add a subtle pop-up effect to the Embroidered Bauble Card I adhere the embroidered bauble onto the card base using 3D Foam Squares White Mix and 3D Foam Strips.

Embroidered Bauble Card by Yvonne van de Grijp for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhere a sentiment sticker onto a strip of grey cardstock and place it on the bauble with Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix. For a finishing touch, I adhered small pearls onto the bauble and also a small silver bow on top of the bauble using Adhesive Dots Micro to prevent any glue stains. And voilá, the Embroidered Bauble Card is ready. Wishing you happy crafting!

Merry Christmas Greeting Card Step Outs

I have a few step photos showing how the Creative Photo Corners highlight the focal image of the card.

To create the focal image, stamps were used on 2″x 2″ size squares making a grid. The grid was adhered to black cardstock using the E-Z Runner Grand Repositionable Dots Refillable Dispenser. This worked perfectly to help keep the squares straight.

Holiday Plaid Pocket Tag

Hi, Margie here today with a wonderful Holiday Plaid Pocket Tag that you can tuck in a gift card and a gift tag. I used a thin metal cutting die but you can find online a pocket tag tutorial or two.

Holiday Plaid Pocket Tag by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Holiday Plaid Pocket Tag Pieces

Die-Cut a pocket tag base from the Boughs of Holly patterned paper with the Interactive Tag Die. Next, die-cut a tag from the tag die paper with Tula & Norbert’s Christmas Party Tag Die. For the decorative elements, die-cut a 2 1/8-inch scalloped circle from white cardstock and a 1 5/8-inch circle from the Boughs of Holly patterned paper.

Holiday Plaid Pocket Tag by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Assemble the Pocket Tag

Apply Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/8in. on the tab and bottom of the pocket tag base. Remove the liners and secure to create the pocket tag. Add Crafty Foam Tape Black 108ft. to the back of the circle and secure it on the white scalloped circle. Then adhere the layered circle to the pocket tag front with E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with the Tag Front

Choose your star placement with 3D Foam Stars for the top of the layered circle. Foil with a combination of green, red, and gold from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Celebrate Colors. Remove the top liner of each star and place the foil COLOR SIDE FACING YOU. Rub with your fingertips to transfer the color to the star. Repeat steps.

Embellish the Gift Tag

Depending on your tag design, place the 3D Foam Stars as desired. I chose the same foil combination of green, red, and gold from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Celebrate Colors. Repeat the foiling steps as above. Add into the pocket with a gift card and it’s ready to give away!

Hope you enjoy this gift presentation. Share your creation in the comments below. I would love to visit and leave a comment 🙂 Thanks for visiting!

Christmas Gift Card Holder

Hi, Judy here today! Here it is the end of November and I’m feeling the holiday pressure. As usual, I have far more ideas for things to make than time! With that in mind, I made an easy to make Christmas Gift Card Holder with patterned papers and printed tag fastened to a sleeve band that holds it closed.

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Card and Score Card Base

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Cut a 5.25 x 11-inch piece of double-sided pattern paper. Use a scoring board to score at 2.5, 6.25, 7.5, and 8.75 inches

Assemble the Card Base

With the outer side of the paper face down, fold up at a 2.5-inch score line and 6.25-inch score line (valley folds). Fold back on a 7.5-inch scoreline (mountain fold) and then fold up on an 8.75-inch scoreline (valley fold).

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

On the back side of the paper, apply Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4in. along the 6.25-inch fold and at the ends between folds. This will form a stand-up pocket for the gift card.

Create a Card Pocket Opening

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Measure and mark about .75 inches from each end of top edge of gift card holder. Use scissors to cut away a narrow strip along the folded edge between marks. This will open a pocket for the gift card. Rub Distress Vintage Photo ink along the edges of the pocket and all edges of the card.

Stamp Greeting

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Cut a 0.375 x 5.25-inch strip of Balsa cardstock. Stamp Merry Christmas with black ink towards the right end. Apply Distress Vintage Photo ink along the edges and lightly over the strip.

Secure the Greeting and the Border

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Cut 1 x 5.25 inch piece of green pattern paper. Apply adhesive to the back with E-Z Runner® Ultra Strong Refillable Dispenser and fasten along the front flap edge of the gift card holder. Apply Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4in. to the back of the stamped greeting strip, peel the liner, and secure it across the green border.

A Sleeve Band

Cut a 2.25 x 8.25-inch piece of stripe paper. Rub Distress Vintage Photo ink on the edges.

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place against closed card front and fold ends to back. Apply Premium Double-Sided Tape 1/4in. on the back of one edge, peel the liner, tape the ends, and press together.

Add Decorative Tag

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Ink edges of ephemera tag with Distress Vintage Photo ink. Thread red pearl cotton through the tag hole and tie a small bow.

Christmas Gift Card Holder by Judy Hayes for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Place Thin 3D Foam Squares White Mix on the back of the tag, peel the liners, and attach the tag to the sleeve band.

CAS Sparkling Birthday Banner Card

Hi, Margie here today! This super fun clean and simple (CAS) style Sparkling Birthday Banner Card is packed full of different cardmaking ideas that you can use in your cards. From foiling (no tools needed by the way), layering, and dimension, it will inspire you to try them too! Let me show you how.

CAS Sparkling Birthday Banner Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Birthday Banner Layers + Card Base

  • Card Front Panel: 5 x 3-inch white cardstock (missing in the photo below).
  • Panel Mat: 5.25 x 3.25-inch green cardstock.
  • Panel Layer: 5.5 x 3.5-inch patterned paper.
  • Card Base: 5.75 x 7.5-inch green cardstock and fold in half for a 5.5 x 3.75-inch top-fold card.
CAS Sparkling Birthday Banner Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Prep the Card Front Panel

Stamp a sentiment on the lower right corner of the panel. Place five fishtail 3D Foam Pennants (or six triangle pennants) across the top of the panel (approx.. 0.75-inch from the top).

Adhere the white card front, green cardstock panel mat, and the patterned paper panel layers together with the E-Z Runner® Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.

Wear Your Adhesive on the Outside with 3D Foam Pennants + Foil

Remove the top liner of one of the 3D Foam Pennants. Apply a piece of the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Celebrate Colors on top of the exposed adhesive color side UP – the foil color is facing you. Gently rub the foil with your fingertips to transfer the color to the 3D Foam Pennants. Repeat the foiling step with the rest of the pennants.

I used all the color combinations in the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Celebrate Colors but you can use whatever color you like.

The Finishing Touches

Pull an E-Z Runner® Stars Shape with your tweezers or fingers and center on each of the foiled 3D Foam Pennant. Foil with a contrasting color for interest. I used beautiful gold from the Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets Celebrate Colors.

CAS Sparkling Birthday Banner Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Assembling the Birthday Banner Card

Place strips of Crafty Foam Tape Black 108ft. on the back of the layered card front panel and secure it on the green card base. This gives the layers a subtle lift (1/32 inch which is half of 1/16 inch).

CAS Sparkling Birthday Banner Card by Margie Higuchi for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Design Option: depending on the design, add a piece of twine across the pennant tops and secure it with the Adhesive Lines. Stamp a word or personalize it with a name using a small letter stamp (or letter dies + Adhesive Sheets) on top of the foil pennants.

Hope you give this a try. Thanks for stopping in!

Masking Strips for Inking Technique

Hi, everyone! Do you like to make your own backgrounds? Teri here with an easy masking technique to try next time you make an inked background for a card.

Masking Strips for Inking Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Cut Strips of Paper, Add Adhesive and Mask

Start by cutting several strips of lightweight printer paper. Make all of them the same height. The length does not matter. Apply E-Z Dots® Repositionable adhesive on the back of them.

Masking Strips for Inking Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Adhere them to a panel of cardstock to create a frame of sorts, leaving the middle of the panel open. Blend ink onto the panel. Remove the strips. Designer’s Tip: Create several inked panels at one time by cutting several strips and using them to mask off several panels before inking!)

Masking Strips for Inking Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Use a gum eraser to remove any adhesive left on your paper panels. Be sure not to touch the inked up parts, in case your ink is not dry!

Turn Those Inked Panels Into Cards

Turn the panels into cards by stamping images with black ink onto the panels. Take part of an Adhesive Sheet 4 x 6in. and randomly apply adhesive onto your inked panels.

Masking Strips for Inking Technique by Teri Anderson for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Cover the adhesive with glitter! (Creative tip! Not feeling like using glitter? Use Metallic Transfer Foil instead!)

Stamp sentiments on strips of cardstock. Adhere them to your panels with Crafty Foam Tape. Mount your panels onto card bases as well.

Embellishment Tree Layout

Hello crafty friends! Tracy here, and today I have a pretty little festive layout to share that is a great way to use up your leftover bits and pieces of your favourite collections. Here are all of the details on how I created this Embellishment Tree Layout.

Embellishment Tree Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Let’s Get Festive!

Do you ever have a collection that you absolutely love? But have just bits and pieces left. I had 1 full sheet of patterned paper left, that is my 12×12 background. Then cut a piece of white cardstock to 11×11. Adhere the layers together using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser.

Embellishment Tree Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I added the gift foam stickers to the bottom of the layout to create the base of the tree. Use a scrap piece of cardstock to create a triangular template with the remaining space that will then be the tree.

Embellishment Tree Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The next step to creating the Embellishment Tree Layout is to adhere the foam sticker embellishments to create the bottom layer of the tree, and the star foam sticker for the top of the tree.

Embellishment Tree Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Mat the mini photos in white cardstock, adhering them with the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser. I ended up only using 2 of the mini photos that I matted.

Embellishment Tree Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Lay the matted photos where you would like them to be within the Embellishment Tree. Add embellishments around the matted photos creating the rest of the tree image using the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser and 3D Foam Squares White Mix to create lots of dimension. Then add the matted mini photos to the layout using 3D Foam Squares White Mix.

Embellishment Tree Layout by Tracy McLennon for Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

Finally, I added lots of gems in and around the Embellishment Tree for a little extra sparkle.

Amazing Kind of Day Fall Tag

Hi, Connie here with an Amazing Kind of Day fall tag that would look super cute on a loaf of homemade bread. I started with Metallic Transfer Foil Sheets, Adhesive Sheets 4×6, and Distress Oxide ink. This will give you a pretty cool background to start building the tag on.

Building the Tag Background

  • 1. Stamp focal images, color, and trim out. Add background stamps, to the tag, to enhance and add interest to the tag. Be creative with the stamps and ink, that’s the fun part.
    2. Add color to the tag using acrylic paint. All images are colored with Distress Oxide inks watered down. It gives a distressed watercolor look.
